The Unusual Adventures of Lucas Abascal is a book that has been born out of sincere efforts. It depicts the voyage of Lucas, a teenage Galician boy who has inherited incredible ambition for ‘seamanship,’ from his Grandfather; but his ocean adventure later converts into an extraordinary ‘expedition of life.’
The story has been evolved by taking into account certain historical and political occurrences around the 19th and 20th Centuries with a fictional twist. Nevertheless, some chapters are strongly oriented towards hidden realism and depict issues arising out of scientific and political advancements. Lastly, with a philosophical ending, this book must be an interesting and valuable investment of time for the reader. Hopefully, towards the end, it will enlighten the reader about a new dimension of ‘existence.’
